Just when you thought you'd had enough of all those political ads this midterm election, Senatorial candidate Joe Manchin has just made attack ads awesome by invoking Star Wars. Yes, he compares his opponent John Raese to Darth Vader, even calling him "Darth Raese" in one of the video titles. In the first ad, Raese's assertion that we need "1000 lasers in the sky" cues the Imperial March theme and soon Darth Vader's TIE Fighter swoops in to blast a nurse, two business men, a construction worker and a high school. Here's the video:
Then, in a second, shorter ad, Raese is again characterized by his "crazy" ideas, which are listed as Imperial Stormtroopers march on the street (footage probably from a parade).
LOL Hope Lucas sues him
ReplyDelete@PlanetBen - he probably will. Well, not sue, but get the videos pulled from YouTube. The YouTube TOS states that you own the rights to everything you upload, so clearly this is in violation of them.
ReplyDeleteWow. I hope he gets sued for his amazing pretentiousness. I mean, even for a political ad..yeesh.
ReplyDeleteHaha Thats a way to describe him, may the force be with you Joe
ReplyDeleteStar wars?? In my politics?
ReplyDeleteMade me laugh so much.
